"Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician"

Serial Monogamist 05/26/20

After playing in Rock 'n Roll bands for over 50 years, yes indeed I ran into my fair share of "Miss Hesitation's." And on occasion I've "risen" to the challenge! Most of my life I lived as a serial monogamist. But those times in between, yeah, I did work on getting my "Playa" on. Really depended on my "motivation..." Welcome to another excerpt from my memoirs, "Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician."

My mom, who thought she knew me well, once told me, "Roger, you're a good boy who wants to be bad." What she didn't know then won't hurt her now, LOL!

Ask any straight male musician why they initially started playing in bands and I think they'll mostly give you the same answer -- "chicks!" Some want a lot of 'em, some want just a precious few. As an initially shy boy, I found the game a little difficult to play, but soon warmed up to it. But I always felt that if I didn't put myself out there, how could I win?

So on this umpteenth day of this Coronavirus, lockdown solitude, I work on running over the bass lines to Jesse Colin Young's epic album, "Song for Julie." I dream back to exquisitely fencing with "Miss Hesitation," no matter whether "win, lose, or draw..." Oh what a total gas! One <3
