"Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician"

Resident Evil 07/07/20

Today, I speak in classic horror movie metaphors as I watch the world descend further into "Resident Evil" kicked off by an escaped biological virus cooked up in a military lab somewhere -- shades of 007's battle with SPECTRE. Except that this time, the weapon escapes before the sale. Shades of the rebooted "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." Do you really believe Covid-19 started by someone cooking and eating infected bats? Please! Welcome to another excerpt from my memoirs, "Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician." B-|

Unfortunately, so far no "Superman" or "Justice League" emerges to save the day! Yeah, we all know and loathe the Super Villain(s). But who will strong-arm us back from the precipice? Who will save us from the forthcoming two years of Hell living with the Coronavirus? Can I ever safely leave this apartment?

:-O I recently watched "Horror Hotel," a 1960 UK Hammer Studios movie about New England witches, powered by a fascinating plot. A man/community makes the following deal with Satan. In return for sacrificing a certain amount of people per year, the citizens live forever in good health and enjoy bountiful riches and sex. Sound like anyone we know? ;)

Lately, no historical heroes hold up to media scrutiny. So who the F*ck's going to rise up like "Mighty Mouse" or "Underdog" to "Save the Day?" As I ponder the question on a surprisingly cool, lockdown day of Plague, I revisit the bass parts to Neil Young and Crazy Horse's 1975 epic "Zuma" record. See any parallels between "Cortez the Killer" and our current predicament? One <3
