Roger Zee Memoirs

"Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician"

Misha 6 6/21/20

Today I continue the reveal on my Misha love saga. After much contemplation, I realize that although I wrote the screenplay, I cast the wrong actress... You know the deal, square peg, round hole. But back then, I didn't possess the cazoles to toss her! And so begins the latest excerpt from my memoirs, "Life and Times of a Pandemic Musician."

After the Misquamicut Beach fiasco, I slowly patched things up with Mischa. But I realized that I wanted it more than her. She reeled me in with her reticence and I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I yearned to live the dream way too much...

Suddenly an issue arose at her library clerk job. An evil co-worker threw Misha under the bus to divert attention from her own screw up. Misha did not know how to handle it. And when she asked my advice, frankly neither did I. She started thinking about possible career alternatives, especially now that she had given up exhibiting her paintings.

We tossed about some ideas and I mentioned my specialty, computer programming. I set up an interview with my friend Elizabeth who did very well at Greenwich Capital. They met, had a good talk, and then Misha signed up for an intro programming course in Basic. Turns out she had absolutely no aptitude for it. I tried to help but she just didn't get it. What took me 5 minutes took her 2 hours. But she determined to see it through, and that cut deeply into the amount of time we could spend together. Just another glitch in our hitch.

We began fighting, breaking up on and off. I would work hard to repair the damage and get us back together. But finally I lost patience and just gave up. However, she shocked me one last time by apologizing, and asking to come back. Misha ultimately gave up on programming and decided to enroll in a master's degree program in library science.

So on the first day of Covid-19 summer 2020, I reflect upon the insanity of forcing the wrong puzzle pieces together. Though I don't I like to think of myself as a quitter, sometimes you just got to know when to fold 'em. And on that note, today I focus on learning the bass lines to The Velvet Underground's "Greatest Hits" in the hope of finally kicking my addiction to LOVE... Peace out. One <3
